被譽(yù)為"童話世界"、"人間仙境"的九寨溝位于九寨溝縣中南部白水江上游，眠山山脈尕爾納峰北麓。古稱中羊峒，又稱翠海，是長江水系嘉陵江源頭的一條支溝，海拔2000 - 4300米。景區(qū)核心面積720平方公里，外國保護(hù)區(qū)600平方公里。東面與綿陽市平武縣接壤，西南與松潘縣相鄰，全境長59公里，東西寬19公里。南距四川省省會(huì)成都400多公里，屬高山深谷碳酸鹽堰塞湖地貌。

九寨溝氣候宜人、四季秀美，包括寶鏡巖、樹正、諾日朗、劍巖、長海、扎如等六大景區(qū)。各景點(diǎn)之間棧道幽深，小橋橫跨，村寨古樸，民風(fēng)各異，令人有超凡脫俗、飄然出塵之感。
